Let’s start with the most important question when it comes to social media and it’s use. Since Social Media is always on and readily accessible, does this mean you will feel the need to visit your favorite social media site frequently? The answer for most is yes. We’re natural creatures of habit with obsessive personalities.

As online technology has progressed, social media has grown tremendously. As more and more people connect with each other through online mediums, it becomes essential to find a comfortable balance between virtual and real life. Due to these advancements of connecting one another with our friends, family, and co-workers anytime anywhere it’s blurred our boundaries when it comes to usage. Here is the good news and bad news. The good news is you can create work, personal and social media balance. No matter how complicated the mix may seem, there is an answer to it. The bad news is that you may need to experiment to find what mix works for you. What makes a difference in balancing your work and personal is how you handle each sphere. Here are a few tips.

Tracking your time:

The simplest way to ensure you aren’t wasting time in any one place is to monitor it. Set aside some time and when it’s elapses log out. You can always catch-up later.

Remember the telephone:

I know, this sounds so primitive. But, a call to a friend works just as well as messaging them, a real human interaction by voice, something we are losing touch with as a society today. Get outdoors and take a break: Getting up, stretching your legs, getting some sunshine and taking a walk can work wonders for you mentally and physically.

Know your priorities:

When your work is done, you then have time for fun. Whether if you’re working from home or in a corporate office, you’re still being held to a standard from a production standpoint.
